The Eastham Process

The Eastham process is a five stage lifestyle change process that forms the foundation of the Spark programs. Developed by Chris Eastham, the process is just one of many possible routes to take towards succesful lifestyle change.  It is based on 14 years of study and work in health, wellbeing and lifestyle change and incorporates coaching, personal training, NLP, brain gym, meditation & hypnosis, ADKAR change management framework, and other project management & performance enhancement ideas that have been picked up along the way that we may or may not be aware of.

The Eastham process combines methodology with experience.  To truely appreciate and understand the methodology, one must have had the experience of working through it themselves.  "I realised this when having trouble assisting some clients who were trying to change their lifestyles and lose weight without success".  As a coach I knew where their limitations were but was not able to make them aware of them".  I spent time considering my own limitations and working through them, and as I addessed my own limitations and expanded my own awareness of possibilities and options I discovered how to assist others in expanding theirs.  

This page as part of the Help On The Way Down resource centre to show how lifestyle change can be based on a systematic methodology.  Successful change management combines art and science and successful lifestyle change is achieved by combining a shift in awareness with the learning and practice of new day to day thoughts and habits.  By including the mind and body in a process assessing, learning, planning & doing, you can achieve a faster, easier and more holistic lifestyle change.

The Eastham process is based on asking and answering 5 simple but powerful questions:

  1. What do you want to achieve?
  2. What is currently limiting you and how can we get around it?
  3. How will you get to your goal?
  4. How will you know you have been succesful?
  5. How will you make it a real commitment?
